About Us

I am Lorraine Anderson, mother of 11 year old triplets Harry, Laura & George lloyd-Anderson and Founder & President of Yorkshire Multiples Group (YMG).

I set the group up after having triplets and finding that there was no support for multiple births in the area, a small group in Wakefield folded shortly after I began attending as there was no proper meeting area and lack of support. I then attended one in Leeds which was fantic, the first time I arrived I really felt that for once other parents understood me, unfortunately this also folded.

So with a few like minded people we set up Leeds & Wakefield Multiples Group which in 2000 turned into a charity and was renamed Yorkshire Multiples Group.

We have been supporting parents, carers & professionals of twins, triplets and more for over seven years now and the need is still out there for support.

Life with multiples is like a rollercoaster of life, sometimes you are up and other times you are down! YMG are here to support you when you are down and help you celebrate when you are up, there is no one better than another parent of multiples who has been through similar experience to offer you support.

We are a non-profit making charity 1090898 and we rely totally on donations or monies which we raise ourselves to fund our work. We do this by charging £7.50 for membership per annum and by summer fairs, coffee mornings etc.

All of our groups are run by volunteers many of them parents of multiples themselves and without their dedication we would not be able to offer support to others.

We offer support by telephone, email, at our toddler sessions (Wakefield, Whitkirk Multibabes & Bradford Multiples Groups) as well as newsletters, leaflets and our web site.

If you have something to celebrate let us know, if you want sup[port contact us today and if you have any gripes or campaigns which you think that we need to persue let us know!
