Twin Birth Story
Michelle Ward Birth Story.
On Tuesday 17th July, I visited the midwife for a routine aapointment and happened to mention that I had not felt any movements that day.
I was advised to go to the hospital but no sooner had they attached the monitors I started with contractions, I was already 3cm dilated.
I was worried as I was a week overdue with my first but only 34 weeks now but at midnight the contrractions stopped. The doctors told me the next day that I was 4cms but they were not going to intervene and let nature takes its course.
I had to stay in hospital as I may not make it back in time as I delivered very quickly first time around. Another two days in hospital and nothing!
Then after finishing my Macdonalds I mentioned to Ian that I felt a little bloated, he told the midwife and I was 7cms dilated. Everything happened quickly but I had to have an epidural as twin two was breach position and still I felt no pain!
Elle was born first closely followed by her identical sister Bethany, we had a little cuddle before they went to special care.
They arrived home to an excited big sister who loves them to peices and my three little girls are absolutely perfect. Ian has helped me so much and sometimes I don't find the time to say thank you.
I hope to meet you at one of the meetings where I can show off our new family to you all and learn from your experiences.
